Lau Kristensen
Investment Committee Member, and Partner of 2L Development A/S
Lau Kristensen is a successful entrepreneur and has been a business manager for more than 16 years. Lau and 2L co-founder Lars-Erik have founded and invested in a number of companies together, several of which have been acquired by large American and European investment groups.
Today Lau is one of three partners in 2L Development, which during the last 7 years has developed several hundred apartments in and around Copenhagen. All of them unique and widely commended for their innovative design. One example is the daring conversion of a former submarine hangar into high-end quality apartments (see www.torpedohallen.dk). Besides apartments, 2L has successfully developed city offices and vacation homes outside of Copenhagen.
In addition to real estate development, 2L is the majority shareholder in DSS Silkeborg, a leading European technology company and a a minority shareholder in the companies: Vinobios, Infare, and Zensys.
Lau graduated from Copenhagen Business School with a MBA. He is a Danish national and lives and works in Copenhagen.
Kent Phippen
Investment Committee Member, and Managing Director of Aspen Capital Group Limited.
Kent Phippen has substantial experience in the purchasing, development and operation of real estate projects. He is currently the majority shareholder and Managing Director of Aspen Capital Group Limited, a company that develops and operates care centres and residential developments in the UK.
Between 2001 and 2003 he was the majority shareholder and Managing Director of Ashbourne Consolidated Group Limited, a company that owned and operated 130 nursing and residential homes with 8,000 employees. Between 1999 and 2001 he was the Managing Director of Sun Healthcare Europe, a company that purchased, developed and operated hundreds of properties, including healthcare homes in the UK, pharmacies and residential homes in Germany, Spain and Israel. In 2000 Sun Healthcare sold all its European investments and Kent completed a management buyout of the UK activities.
Kent moved to the UK in 1988 as a Finance Director of Westminster Health Care (WHC), where he was instrumental in the expansion of WHC from 6 facilities to 60 through various public offerings and debt financing events. He became the Chief Operating Officer of WHC from 1996 to 1999 when the company was taken private. Earlier in his career Kent occupied a senior management position with Hilllhaven Corporation, then the largest nursing home provider in the US with over 100 homes.
Kent was born and educated in the USA. He graduated from Central Washington University with a BS in Business Administration and Economics and is a Certified Public Accountant. Kent now lives and works in the UK.
Bo Ilsoe
Investment Committee Member, and Chairman of Intex Systems
Bo Ilsoe has more than 18 years of experience within the communications and financial services industry, having worked with R&D, engineering, project management, business unit leadership and investment portfolio management. Bo is an FSA approved fund manager.
Bo is a co-founder and chairman of Intex Systems Pte Ltd, a distributor of hardware and software to telecom operators in South East Asia.
Prior to his duties with Intex and Broadgate Capital, Bo was an Investment Director with Vertex Management (UK) based in London. He served on the boards of numerous private companies in Europe and in the US and has garnered significant M&A experience through the exits of Digiquant (DK) to Intec Telecom (UK), Rainifinity (US) to EMC (US), Capital IQ (US) to McGraw-Hill (US) and Altamedius (Ireland) to Qpass Inc (US). At Vertex he also negotiated a management contract and ran a portfolio of 13 companies for a large German bank as well as serving as a CEO for a joint venture management company.
Prior to his tenure with Vertex Management Bo spent 12 years with Nokia. During his time with Nokia he was instrumental in negotiating and closing numerous GSM system supply contracts in Asia, where he spent 6 years based in Singapore. He also worked with the board of Nokia and Nokia Networks on a variety of strategic plans and initiatives. Prior to leaving Nokia he was running a global business unit with 70 people based in Barcelona, Dallas and Helsinki.
Bo started his career at Alcatel Aerospace Division in Denmark working on various satellite communications projects for the European Space Agency.
Bo holds a Masters degree and graduated with honours in electrical and electronic engineering specialised in telecommunications from Aalborg University in Denmark. Bo is a Danish national and now lives and works in London.
